Getting Involved

Volunteering with the Network

At the Mental Health Network we support people that volunteer with us to join in at the level that they feel most comfortable with. We provide volunteering opportunities that we will tailor to suit your needs. We are currently developing a new volunteer programme, which we will keep you updated about.

Volunteering Opportunities

Media Group
We are looking for volunteers to join our media group. The Media group meets to edit and produce our quarterly newsletter. There is also the opportunity to develop and update the website

Administration
Our office is based in Templeton Business Centre. We have a busy office and there are plenty of opportunities to help us with running the office.

Peer Research Group
We are developing a training course for people that have mental health difficulties to learn about basic research methods. This group will then be able to carry out user led research.

Attending meetings
The Network represents service users at a range of meetings that are held by the people that plan the services. We will support any person that would like to attend these meetings.

What our volunteers have said:

How to volunteer
Call the office and speak to any member of staff and we can arrange to meet you and discuss what you interested in and take it from there.

It makes me feel positive about my own mental health; it makes me feel valued as a person. It also helps my confidence and self esteem.

I volunteer to hopefully put a service users input into how services should be shaped.

The support and help from staff at MHN is tremendous

I like helping other people and doing new things
