At the Mental Health Network we support people that volunteer with us to join in at the level that they feel most comfortable with. We provide volunteering opportunities that we will tailor to suit your needs. We are currently developing a new volunteer programme, which we will keep you updated about.
Volunteering Opportunities
We are currently looking for volunteers to assist us with our Advance Statement Project.
Do you have an AdvanceStatement?
Has it been used?
Mental Health Network (Greater Glasgow) are currently looking for volunteers to participate in their Advance Statement Awareness Sessions.
These are short practical sessions delivered by people who have used an advance statement, sharing the learning that they have gotten from the experience.
The sessions focuses on how to make an advance statement and its role in protecting your rights in relation to the Mental Health (Care and Treatment) (Scotland) Act (2003).
It also offers guidance on practical topics such as making sure your statement is available to everyone involved in your care, how to involve carers/supporters and what could be in your personal statement as well.
Volunteers have stated that delivering these sessions to small service user groups is rewarding and enjoyable and has helped their personal development.
If you are interested in learning more then please contact me, Gordon McInnes, at the Network on 0141 550 8417, e-mail: gordon@mhngg.org.uk
